Mohs Micrographic Surgery
Mohs Micrographic Surgery is an exceptionally precise and advanced surgical procedure, considered to be the most effective treatment for certain skin cancers. A microscopic examination is conducted to map the affected area. Skin is removed in extremely thin layers until no cancerous cells remain. To learn more, visit www.mohscollege.org
Wide Local Excision
This is a surgical procedure primarily used to treat early stage melanoma, yet it can also be employed for basal and squamous cell carcinomas. The affected tissue is removed along with a margin of healthy tissue. The resulting defect is reconstructed as necessary.
